Olympic Park is the legacy of the 1988 Seoul Olympics and houses South Korea largest sports arena. It is now a place for locals to relax and unwind.

Olympic Park encompasses the land that was once Mongchontoseong Fortress and Mongchonhaeja (man-made lake) from the early Baekje period.

The large park would take probably over 3 hours to explore and is divided into several zones, including a Leisure Sports Park, Cultural Art Park, Environmental Eco-Park and History Experience Park dedicated to the area’s rich historic heritage.

Other Flower Fields in Autumn - Pink Muhly Grass (Sep - Nov) & Kochia Scoparia (Sep-Oct)

A hot new addition to Olympic Park is the hugely popular Muhly Grass field where the feathery flowers turn pastel pink in Autumn.

The Kochia Scoparia starts from lime green to yellow colours generally in late September to early October before turning bright red. It generally loses its bright red to dry brown colour earlier than Pink Muhly.

Gourd Tunnel in Autumn (Sep - mid Nov)

This is an unique tunnel where visitors can walk through various types of gourd like pumpkins and squashes, hanging colourfully from above.

2.7km Golden Ginkgo Tree Road in Autumn (Oct - Nov)

Rows of rich yellow Ginkgo Trees lined the park's perimeter of 1.4km long from Mongchontoseong Station, Olympic Park South Gate 4 to Olympic Park South Gate 1.

The Ginkgo path stretches another 1.3km onward along the road beyond Olympic Park South Gate 1.

The Olympic Park Ginkgo Path is extremely popular with the locals especially when the leaves fall and covered the ground in golden yellow in late autumn. It provides an unique walking experience and a hot photo-taking spot right in Seoul.

The ice skating rink operates near World Peace Gate at Olympic Park every Winter with affordable admission fee (from 3,000 won) that includes skates and helmet rental.

To get around the large park leisurely, you may like to rent a two wheeled or four-wheeled bicycle. The bicycle rental shop is located between SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium and Woori Art Hall.

Operating hours: 10:00 to 18:00. Closed on Mondays.
Rental Charges: Two-wheeled bicycle - from 3,000 won / Four-wheeled bicycle - from 7,000 won / 30 mins.
