Sights along the Recommended Bike Course

From Paldang Station (Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province), you will cycle along the well-known Han River (which flows through Seoul), pass the majestic Paldang Dam (575m embankment length, 29m high), through Bong-an Tunnel (260m long) to arrive at the scenic rest stop with Bonjour Paldang (large cafe), photo zone, panoramic view of Paldang Dam and rest rooms.

After Bonjour Paldang, you will ride past picturesque villages of Namyangju, visit the historic abandoned Nungnae Station with its well-preserved waiting room and railroad tracks. Next, you will ride through the peaceful nature of tree tunnels.

This section is particularly famous for its cherry blossoms in spring with cherry blossoms lining gorgeously on both sides of the cycling route.

After Nungnae Station, you can have a lunch stop at the popular Dolminari House before crossing Bukhangang River on the iconic and majestic Bukhangang Railroad Bridge. The railway bridge is a great photo stop where you can also enjoy scenic river view and perhaps catch a passing train running parallel to the bridge. There are restrooms at the end of the bridge too.

Once past Bukhangang Railroad Bridge, you will arrive at Yangpyeong County (Gyeonggi Province) where you can visit the famous Dumulmeori (meeting point of Bukhangang River & Namhangang River) and eat the popular Dumulmeori Yeon Hotdog.

On the left of Dumulmeori Yeon Hotdog is the popular Dumulmeori Lotus Leaf Ice Cream store and on the right is a fresh fruit juice/drink food truck with open seating area. Also, there are several cafes with water view at Dumulmeori.

After which, you can visit the nearby strawberry farms for strawberry picking, strawberry jam making and other strawberry experiences.

💡About 160m after crossing Bukhangang Railroad Bridge, take the small fork bike path on your right to exit to Bukhangang-ro, leading to Yangsuri Traditional Market and onwards to Dumulmeori. The pedestrian walkway along Bukhangang-ro till the market section is a bit narrow to cycle with human traffic. Alternatively, you can cycle till Yangsu Station to ride on the wider/smoother pedestrian walkway but longer route to Dumulmeori.

If you are returning your bike at Sinwon Station, the bike path will continue on the scenic Namhangang River, passing through a series of 5 interesting tunnels with the first tunnel, Yongdam Art Tunnel (441m long) being the longest and Buyong 3 Tunnel with a nice curve.

💡If you still have the energy, you can continue on the bike path after Sinwon Station where it will shortly travel inland towards Guksu Station and Asin Station before returning towards Namhangang River to its final destination in Yangpyeong, i.e. Yangpyeong Station. (Sinwon Station ⇢ Yangpyeong Station, 14km, 60 mins).

💡Alternatively, for a shorter bike course, you can travel from Paldang Station, Dumulmeori and return your bike at Yangsu Station (15km, 1hr), subject to your bike rental shop return policy.

💡All estimate bike travel times are based on non-stop riding. As such, please buffer enough time for breaks, photo-taking, attractions along the way and bicycle return.
