Cheong Wa Dae (or Blue House) is the official residence of the President of South Korea.
The main building consists of the President's office, a meeting room and other buildings. It is known as the 'Blue House' for its blue-tiled roof.
Nearby Chongwadae Sarangchae is an exhibition hall that introduces all of the former Korean Presidents and the history of Korea along with a mock-up of the President's office.

Free 60 mins tour of the presidential compound available for online booking 3 weeks to 6 months in advance.

Tours available on Tuesday-Friday and 2nd/4th Saturdays of the month at 10:00, 11:00, 14:00 and 15:00.

You can pick your preferred tour date and time slots available.

Passport information required during booking.

The tour is conducted in Korean only. However, non-Korean speakers can use the audio guide supplied free.

Visitor under 20 years old must book the tour accompanied by an older adult.
2. Day of the Tour

With your passport, arrive at the Cheong Wa Dae Tour Information Booth, located on the right of the Gyeongbokgung Palace main Gwanghwamun gate parking lot (east gate) at least 30 minutes before the start of the tour.

After the passport checks, the group will board the shuttle bus to Cheong Wa Dae.

Upon arrival, there will be a brief security check followed by a short introductory video.

The actual tour will cover Nokjiwon Garden, the old building grounds, the Main Building and Yeongbin-gwan (the State Guest House).

Photographs may ONLY be taken at designated locations and video recording is strictly prohibited.

After the tour, shuttle bus are available at the Rose of Sharon Garden to take you back to Gyeongbokgung Palace East Gate Parking Lot or you can continue to nearby Chongwadae Sarangchae or Samcheongdong.
During autumn, the road leading to Chong Wa Dae, along the stone-wall of Gyeongbokgung Palace (Sinmumun Gate) turned into gorgeous shades of yellow from the ginkgo trees. A lovely sight to behold on the relaxing walk.
