You can take a taxi uphill direct to the cafe entrance (about 12 mins ride north from Gyeongbokgung Palace / 18 mins ride from City Hall Station) and take a leisure walk downhill after visiting Sanmotoonge.
Gyeongbokgung Station (line 3, exit 5). Walk straight about 120m to the 2nd bus stop and take bus 1020, 7022 or 7212 (11 mins, 6 stops). Get off at Buam-dong Community Service Center (부암동민주센터, pronounced as Bu-am-dong Ju-min Sen-to). All stops are announced with English sign on bus. Once you get off the bus, walk straight on your right. Turn left onto the road next to Club Espresso Cafe and walk straight. At the fork function, take the left road, walk straight (do not turn left at the small side road) until you reached a 3-level high white building at the road fork, continue on the right side uphill for 10-18 mins until you reach Sanmotoonge. Total walk is about 900m, mostly uphill.

The mountainside cafe, Sanmotoonge is made famous as the film site of the Korean drama, 'The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince'. It is located in Buamdong, a charming and peaceful neighbourhood popular for its great cafes, classic restaurants and famous art galleries.
