Bukchon Traditional Culture Center is a National Registered Cultural Heritage, opened in 2002 to promote the history and culture of Bukchon, an upper-class residential quarter of the Joseon Dynasty.
Housed in a beautiful renovated hanok with tiled roofs, low wall, cozy courtyard and neat hanok interior, the culture center offers exhibitions, hands-on programs (e.g. traditional folk games) and travel information (brochures, maps). Admission is free.
This is a great place to take a break as there are many visitor rest areas for you to immerse in the relaxed, cultural atmosphere of a traditional hanok.






The House of Sulwhasoo Bukchon 설화수의집 북촌

Located 3 mins walk from Anguk Station (line 3, exit 3), Dotori Garden Anguk is a great place to take a breather amidst your travelling to enjoy the healing comfort of the standalone, 2-storey converted house with a garden. It is a popular must-visit bakery pilgrimage spot in Seoul.
The bakery cafe is famous for its fresh Greek yogurt bowls such as organic acai, dubai chewy cookie, cacao double double, all about grain, real blueberry, apple cinnamon, real strawberry and ripe persimmon topped with natural honeycomb. Located in the narrow alley, the popular Kkangtong Mandu restaurant has been selected for the Blue Ribbon Survey (Korea's leading restaurant guide) yearly since 2014. You can have freshly-made noodles, hand-chopped dumplings and bone broth brewed for over 12 hours. Again, do expect a queue at this restaurant.

Cafe04293 is a great place to enjoy quality Korean shaved ice (bingsu) in a tranquil atmosphere, located 7 mins walk from Anguk Station (line 3, exit 3) along Gyedong-gil.
For a cafe specialising in bingsu, it is surprisingly spacious with different cozy areas of zen interior design on both 1F and 2F. There is also an outdoor courtyard area where you can dine under the trees.
Its Korean shaved ice menu includes milk bingsu, strawberry bingsu, green tea bingsu and the most popular mango bingsu. Other dessert samples (e.g. tiramisu, dirty banana) are displayed at the counter too. Their Black Sesame Latte is another recommended try.
Unlike other bingsu places, Cafe04293's bingsu are served attractively with the shaved ice and all other toppings in their own separate bowls.

Hwangsaengga Kalguksu is a famous restaurant listed in Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand yearly since 2017. It is located next to Blue Bottle Samcheong Cafe, 10 mins walk from Anguk Station (exit 1). The restaurant is famous for its handmade noodles and dumplings. Other menu items include cold soybean noodle soup (summer only), hot pot with mushrooms, pancakes and sliced boiled pork/beef with kimchi wraps.
💡You can expect quite a queue at this popular restaurant. Thankfully, there is a well-organised queue with seats where the restaurant staff will guide you along. Generally, the queue moved fairly fast as the restaurant has 2 floors and you can take a well-deserved break from your sightseeing too.
